Review: MadCatz Wireless Fender Bass Guitar

When I got the USB version of the MadCatz Precision Bass Guitar I, loved it. The fact that it was 84% scale and had great response made it a must have for any Rock Band player. Granted the USB cable, while long enough, was an inconvenience compared to the wireless guitars. So when MadCatz sent me the new Xbox 360 version (Wireless Fender Bass Guitar), I was anxious to try it out. Want to know the results? Read on for the full:

Review: Rock Band Wireless Fender Telecaster

The Rock Band craze is still on. With the recent launch of RB: The Beatles and the new network store, there is a constant wave of DLC content. Of course this also means new RockBand gear and guitars. MadCatz sent me their Wireless Fender Telecaster Player’s Edition Replica for the 360 to review. The guitar looks like a real Telecaster with its sunburst paint job and worn look... find out more in the full review:

COD: MW 2 Patch Update & Cheating Issues

Normally I hate to post on rumors or things not released since things can change and often do. I decided that this time I would post since the details are already on Infinity Ward’s Forums. The new update that is supposed to fix the XP, Package and several other glitches was submitted last Friday to MS for certification. Everything has to pass before they release it including patches. The last patch brought more issues to light so just know that the patch should be out soon. In the mean time it appears some players are selling level 10 prestige ranking. If you get a message inviting you to a room please report the person as cheating. I have received several invites and they range from 1600 MS points, 3-Month gold cards or going into a game and allowing the person to earn certain challenges. It’s not only illegal but if they are using a hacked Xbox 360 you are risking getting involved with someone who could gain access to your information. On that note it seems gamers have found a new way to mod controllers and are selling them on certain sites. Use of these can result in being banned yourself so please report these as well. I wish IW would be monitoring this a bit more but at times the best way to get their attention is reporting player. In case you need to report someone highlight their name select file a complaint and follow the screen. No one will know you filed but this will cut down on this issue. As soon as the patch is released I will post with exactly what it fixed.

Things should be working soon I wanted to post as the update process is taking longer than expected.

BioShock 2 Developers Call

XBS was invited to another great Developers call thanks to Chase over at Access PR. This time around it was all about BioShock 2 which hits stores this Tuesday. Due to the fact this was one of the largest calls and the amount of questions. I want everyone to be able to listen to the audio file. Just follow the link below and wait for the page to load and the file will play. There maybe a few small spoilers but the team covered every question I have seen flying around the net. I found the call to be very helpful and am looking forward to the game. I also want to thank 2K Marin, Digital Extremes, Access PR and GameFlak.com for the audio. The call was lead by Moderator: Chase, Access Communications, Jordan Thomas: Creative Director, 2K Marin, Zak McClendon: Lead Designer, 2K Marin, Hogarth De La Plante: Lead Environment Artist, 2K Marin, Mat Tremblay: MP Art Director, Digital Extremes and Jesse Attard: MP Lead Programmer, Digital Extremes. Click here to get to the audio please note the call runs about 1:20 minutes.

Today Marc Whitten sent out a Press Release stating that April 15th will be the last day Xbox Live will support games made for the original Xbox system. While the news is not surprising the letter also made clear that this will also include Halo 2. While game support for the 1st gen Xbox titles at one time was a big selling point the ability to play them on live will stop. The letter went on to mention how important certain games were to the success of the Xbox 360 and Xbox Live. I have learned that Halo 2 for the PC will still have Xbox Live support. I am sure the news will not be popular among certain gamers but with all the upcoming titles and members now using Xbox live it does make sense.

NBA 2K10 Breaks 2 Million Units Sold

2K Sports sent word that their NBA title NBA 2K10 saw a 60 percent increase in sales over last year. They also announced the title has sold over 2 million units. It’s an impressive figure and the increase in sales could be tied in with this year’s version being 2K’s tenth year anniversary edition. No matter the reasons congratulations to 2K and Visual Concepts.

Chime a new music arcade game from OneBigGame is now available on the XBL Arcade. The game costs 400 MS points and OneBigGame will donate the profits to the Save the Children Foundation and Starlight Children’s Foundation. Check out chime and also help a charity while you’re at it.

Fans waiting for the release of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on March 2nd can get now download the MP Demo. Today EA announced the multiplayer demo is live on the XBL Marketplace. The demo looks a bit dated but I still am looking forward to the Co-Op game play and really enjoyed the first game. EA posted some footage on their You Tube channel so click below to check it out and download the demo today.

“Avatar Crash Course” and “Harm’s Way,” created by Jill Robertson of Raleigh, NC and Justin Carpenter of Ogden, Utah were just named the finalists in the Unlock Xbox Contest. Both games are now going to be made into full arcade titles and go head to head for the grand prize of $50,000. This is the second year for the contest and voting was heavy I like the idea of promoting new ideas for games. I also think this is a great way for getting gamers interested in the industry congratulations to both Jill and Justin. No date for when the two games will hit the arcade but we will post it as soon as it is announced as well as the ultimate winner.

Few games live up to the hype during the wait before release. If you were watching the NFL NFC Championship game on Sunday you saw the special 2 minute trailer for Mass Effect 2. The trailer looked fantastic and just added to the hype and the early reviews have been very high for the sequel. Mass Effect 2 is in stores everywhere in North America today for the Xbox 360 and the PC. The game will hit Europe and Australia by the end of the week. Featuring an all-star cast and amazing graphics Mass Effect 2 is certainly taking its place as the must have game of 2010. Remember those who buy the game new get free access to the ‘Cerberus Network’ BioWare’s new online server for DLC and news for Mass Effect 2. Also free is the first DLC add-on that allows gamers to take Commander Sheppard back to the Normandy crash site. For those wondering if you buy the game used you will need to buy access to the ‘Cerberus Network’ for a one time fee of 1200 MS points. Watch for my review in the next day or two of this fantastic game. I must say this is certainly a great title to kick off 2010!

We like the guys from Bang Camaro and their music rocks! I just found out four new tracks will hit when the Rock Band Network is released. The songs include a new version of “Push Push Lady Lightning”, “Swallow the Razor”, “Blood Red Rock” and “Revolution” from the Madden NFL 10 and Sims 3 soundtrack. More information will follow as soon as a release date is announced.
