XBS Invited to the Fight Night 4 Community Event February 22nd-24th

For those who watched the Video Game Awards on Spike you may remember a huge surprise when Peter Moore announced Fight Night 4 and Mike Tyson walked on stage. They showed a trailer and it showed what if you had a chance to see the greatest boxers of all time fight dream matches. Ali vs. Tyson who would win? It’s interesting and the trailer while a bit short looked fantastic. Mike has changed but in his prime he was one of the most dangerous boxers around so the thought of who would win against him or Ali was interesting. After seeing the trailer a little news began to come out about the long anticipated follow up to Fight Night 3. The Fight Night Series has always been a personal favorite around here. Well, I was surprised with an invite to the Fight Night 4 Community Event Feb, 22-24th in Canada.

XBS will be there and in a way so can you they are going to be featuring live footage on the new inside EA Sports Blog click this link and book mark it. Then on the 22-24 check for announcements you may get to see exactly what I am seeing live on the web. I think this is a great idea since I can write or even video footage of what goes on but seeing it as it happens is very cool. If you have questions about the game make sure to check out our forums and write down the questions in the official Fight Night 4 Q&A thread. Please remember that there may be certain things I will not be able to post until the games release date draws closer. I will do my best to get all the information I can on the new Fight Night 4 game. Watch for a community day wrap-up when I get back but I wanted to give everyone the heads up and a chance to post their questions before the event.

Bang Camaro Visits Conan O’Brien & CD Hits Retailers January 13th

Okay, our friends from Bang Camaro have been busy with their new tour and finishing up their new CD Bang Camaro II. As you may know they are an Indie band meaning they don’t have a contract or a marketing team to rely on. The guys want it that way and I can’t blame them but I wanted to let you know about a few cool dates. On January 6th the band will play on the Conan O’Brien show it airs right after Leno on NBC. Then on January 13th Bang Camaro II their new CD hits retail stores Best Buy, Wal Mart and Hot Topic as well as other stores nationally. Help the guys out and grab their new CD I have heard a few tracks off of it and it rocks! It has the song Night Lies from Rock Band 2 and some other great songs. Make sure to catch them on Conan O’Brien and hopefully we will have them back soon for another insane podcast. If you can’t wait for the National release of the CD you can buy most of the songs from iTunes or from their main website click here for all the details.

Holiday Wishes From the Staff Here at XBS

I know Christmas is over but the Holiday season is still going on. I first want to wish everyone well wishes this holiday season from all of us here at Xboxsolution. While we are here most of the companies are either on extended vacation or getting ready for CES. So the news may be a bit slow over the next few days. I hope all of our visitors had a great Christmas and if you got new games as presents look us up on XBL shoot an invite and let’s play.

While many of you have a few days off you may want a few ideas how to spend the time. You may want to visit the marketplace for special deals and add-ons for the games you just got. Or check out Jason’s hints, tips and cheats over at about.com just click here to get to his blog. He added some cool stuff over the last few weeks. I hope everyone has a great New Year and to all the staff here at XBS I want to thank them and extend my thanks and well wishes over the holiday season. The slow time will not last as I expect CES news and more updates this week so as soon as I get it I’ll post anything new.

Want in on the BattleForge Beta? XBS can Help

It’s been a hectic time with the holiday activities, food and the games time flies. I have yet another chance for something pretty cool. EA and EA Phenomic just kicked their new PC RTS card game BattleForge into the Beta stage and gave me a few beta keys to give away. How do you snag one of these you may ask? First unlike most of the other token giveaways you need to be a registered member on our forums. Then simply go to the PC section and find the BattleForge Beta Thread and follow the instructions. Remember asking for one through our comment section won’t help I won’t respond and this is a cool new RTS game. Check out our forums and I may be sending you a token and the URL to download the game. Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 XBS Giveaway is Coming!

Okay, here is the deal I like to have contests and give a chance for our members to win some swag. Swag is what we call promotional stuff or in this case free games! Command & Conquer 3 Red Alert hit Stores and I just got sent a few extra copies for the Xbox 360. My thanks to Aaron Kaufman the Community Manager for the hook up on the free copies I know he is busy but took time to send a few extra copies.

So you’ll notice it say’s coming soon one of the hardest things about having contests is trying to figure out a way to give them out. I could say the first few people to answer a question or Email me gets the copies but that has been done and really no fun. The game has an incredible cast and is getting great reviews. This is not an expansion pack but a full game. Feel free to offer comments as to how to give the copies away and I may use your idea. Watch for details on Thursday and the start of the contest. Yes, that is a teaser but it’s a chance to win a free copy of the game. We have been challenged and I need everyone’s help while it’s a friendly challenge I am taking it seriously and hope those of you that visit our site and our members will as well. Wedding Bells Will Ring at Xboxsolution This Sunday

You may have read last year that during the Pac-Man Championship event in New York Jason proposed to Christina and she said yes. It’s true and there are pictures to prove it if you click here. Of course I am joking and I know Jason is getting a bit nervous with two days till the big day.

On Sunday Jason and Christina will be married and life will never be the same for the both of them. I mean this in a sincere way and I also know all of the staff members at Xboxsolution wish Jason and Christina the best on the joyous day. Congratulations to the both of you and while I’m the one writing this I know everyone here at Xboxsolution wish you the very best if you want to congratulate the couple or post comments please use the forums. I will have a picture or two after the big event to post but I wanted to take a little time out to post this life changing event!

Xbox Solution’s Things to do While Xbox Live is Down

While it is only for 24 hours I know many of our member’s use Xbox live to touch base with friends as well as play games. So here are a few ideas from XBS to help pass the time while Xbox live is down.

Grab NFS Most Wanted and Beat Razor! A great game but the last boss is tough why not take this time to finish the game? If you have already beaten the game why not try it again.

For you fighting fans pop in DOA 4 and play through the story mode again. Or try and collect all the hidden treasures in the Survival mode.

Sports fans can always grab NHL 09 or NHL 2K9 and work on their franchise mode.

The last thing you may want to do is go outside and take a break from gaming catch up with a friend or go out for some pizza. I know it’s crazy for a gaming site to suggest not playing games but we all need a break every now and then. Just make sure to load our podcasts up on your iPod first that last part is just a suggestion. In any case Xbox live will be back up in the morning so enjoy the day any way you want.

Fracture Demo Hits XBL Next Week

Lucas Arts announced that the playable demo for Fracture is heading to the XBL marketplace next week. The game is co-developed by Day One Studio and is getting a lot of attention. So keep an eye out for it when it hits on September 18th.

E3 08 What Will Microsoft Really Announce?

E3 08 is right around the corner and if you have been surfing the web I know you have read a ton of so called leaked details. We don’t post rumors on our main page and the reason is while we have been right about certain things post something and mislead once and it can come back to bite you. It’s not uncommon to read tons of rumors this time of year but what do you our readers and members think is true and what is just made up? Will we have Mii like avatars running around Xbox Live instead of the old gamer pics we now use?

We will have a new controller that is very similar to the Wii Fit balance board to play certain extreme sports games? Will Guitar Hero 4 have a new guitar and just how much will it cost? The rumor mill has run the gambit this year a two disc Forza 3, sequels to Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Transformers 2? I post this in hopes of getting responses back both in our comment section and in our forum. I am not going to make any remarks backing up the rumors or denying them but I am very interested in what you all think.

Please keep in mind if you post a comment we are not bashing or debating what system will have a better showing. So please keep the comments on topic I really want to see what everyone is thinking. I will certainly have a lot to post during and after E3 trust me but for now I am leaving that up to you our visitors and members.

Lost Cities Hits XBL Arcade This Wednesday

This week the award winning card game from Sierra Lost Cities hits the Xbox Live Arcade. The game mixes card playing with a puzzle like theme as gamers tries to get the highest points and make their way through each location. Lost Cities is going to appeal to both the casual and hardcore gamer alike. It hits on Wednesday and will cost 800 Microsoft points.

Bang Camaro Invades the XBS Podcast Next Week

I know it’s been a long time since our last podcast. If you remember the last show it was a wild one with the members of Bang Camaro. I have good news we are going to be back at the microphones and so is Bang Camaro for a special podcast next week. It should be a blast and I wanted everyone to know so they can watch for it. Jason, Jim and I will be back in rare form and with the guys from Bang Camaro it should be a great way to make our return.

The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters the DVD Released Today

While movies are not the main news around here this one has some history of the industry. The new DVD The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters was released today. The movie follows the story of the Donkey Kong Champ Billy Mitchell and the challenger Steve Wiebe on their quest to be the champion of the world. Billy Mitchell already holds the title of Gamer of the Century. The movie has received great reviews and my copy showed up today but I have not gotten a chance to watch it yet. I thought our members may want to check this out many may remember seeing Billy Mitchell at the Xbox Live Pac-Man tournament in New York City last year when they also announced the new Pac-Man CE arcade title. Both gamers are old school players who love to compete.

Video Games Live to Perform During Spike TV’s VGA Show

Spike TV’s Video Game Award Show will air on December 9th at 9:00 PM EST. The annual award show is known for guest celebrities and big named hosts. This year they announced that Video Game Live will appear and play on the show. The well known group said it was an honor to be asked to perform during the show. Other guests announced are appearances by Chris Angel, Tony Hawk, Tia Carrere, Steve-O and others. More celebrities are going to be announced soon the show is one of the highest rating shows on Spike TV each year.
