Thanks to Alex over at MadCatz I am kicking off the XBS COD MW2 contest today. Winners will receive either a MadCatz Xbox 360 MW 2 controller (white or Black our choice or an Xbox 360 Throat Communicator) One Grand Prize Winner will win A controller and a Throat Communicator the color of the controller will again be our choice. The MW 2 controller looks great and has special buttons on the bottom to allow for mapping weapons and other features. The Throat Communicator uses the same technology as the Military. XBS will take part in the NHL Community Playdate on October 28th from 3:00-9:00 PM (PST) I will add all the gamertags and if you send a request please say or type NHL 10 Playdate. Along with the event there will be a live chat with the dev team. I hope all you NHL fans will join us for a good time and some great hockey. Once Again Chase over at Access PR invited XBS to take part in another 2K Sports Developers Conference Call. This one was for NBA 2K10 Hitting stores on October 6th. This marks the tenth year for the franchise. The call was hosted by Erick Boenisch (Lead Feature Designer) and Rob Jones (Gameplay Director) and Chase was the Moderator. I also include a link to the whole call so you can listen to it later my recording program decided to quit on me half way through the call, Hey I have been away for awhile and forgot that I always should have a backup running. For those who watched the Video Game Awards on Spike you may remember a huge surprise when Peter Moore announced Fight Night 4 and Mike Tyson walked on stage. They showed a trailer and it showed what if you had a chance to see the greatest boxers of all time fight dream matches. Ali vs. Tyson who would win? It’s interesting and the trailer while a bit short looked fantastic. Mike has changed but in his prime he was one of the most dangerous boxers around so the thought of who would win against him or Ali was interesting. After seeing the trailer a little news began to come out about the long anticipated follow up to Fight Night 3. The Fight Night Series has always been a personal favorite around here. Okay, our friends from Bang Camaro have been busy with their new tour and finishing up their new CD Bang Camaro II. As you may know they are an Indie band meaning they don’t have a contract or a marketing team to rely on. The guys want it that way and I can’t blame them but I wanted to let you know about a few cool dates. On January 6th the band will play on the Conan O’Brien show it airs right after Leno on NBC. Then on January 13th Bang Camaro II their new CD hits retail stores Best Buy, Wal Mart and Hot Topic as well as other stores nationally. Help the guys out and grab their new CD I have heard a few tracks off of it and it rocks! It has the song Night Lies from Rock Band 2 and some other great songs. Make sure to catch them on Conan O’Brien and hopefully we will have them back soon for another insane podcast. If you can’t wait for the National release of the CD you can buy most of the songs from iTunes or from their main website click here for all the details.

I know Christmas is over but the Holiday season is still going on. I first want to wish everyone well wishes this holiday season from all of us here at Xboxsolution. While we are here most of the companies are either on extended vacation or getting ready for CES. So the news may be a bit slow over the next few days. It’s been a hectic time with the holiday activities, food and the games time flies. I have yet another chance for something pretty cool. EA and EA Phenomic just kicked their new PC RTS card game BattleForge into the Beta stage and gave me a few beta keys to give away. How do you snag one of these you may ask? First unlike most of the other token giveaways you need to be a registered member on our forums. Then simply go to the PC section and find the BattleForge Beta Thread and follow the instructions. Remember asking for one through our comment section won’t help I won’t respond and this is a cool new RTS game. Check out our forums and I may be sending you a token and the URL to download the game. To help celebrate the release of Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 we are giving away a few Xbox 360 copies. The game is great with an all star cast and a cool double sided game cover. Okay, here is the deal I know many of you visit the site on a daily basis and I thank you for that. As well as those that post comments and visit the forums. We have been challenged and I need everyone’s help while it’s a friendly challenge I am taking it seriously and hope those of you that visit our site and our members will as well. Lucas Arts announced that the playable demo for Fracture is heading to the XBL marketplace next week. The game is co-developed by Day One Studio and is getting a lot of attention. So keep an eye out for it when it hits on September 18th.

E3 08 is right around the corner and if you have been surfing the web I know you have read a ton of so called leaked details. We don’t post rumors on our main page and the reason is while we have been right about certain things post something and mislead once and it can come back to bite you. It’s not uncommon to read tons of rumors this time of year but what do you our readers and members think is true and what is just made up? Will we have Mii like avatars running around Xbox Live instead of the old gamer pics we now use?

This week the award winning card game from Sierra Lost Cities hits the Xbox Live Arcade. The game mixes card playing with a puzzle like theme as gamers tries to get the highest points and make their way through each location. Lost Cities is going to appeal to both the casual and hardcore gamer alike. It hits on Wednesday and will cost 800 Microsoft points.

I know it’s been a long time since our last podcast. If you remember the last show it was a wild one with the members of Bang Camaro. I have good news we are going to be back at the microphones and so is Bang Camaro for a special podcast next week. It should be a blast and I wanted everyone to know so they can watch for it. Jason, Jim and I will be back in rare form and with the guys from Bang Camaro it should be a great way to make our return.

While movies are not the main news around here this one has some history of the industry. The new DVD The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters was released today. The movie follows the story of the Donkey Kong Champ Billy Mitchell and the challenger Steve Wiebe on their quest to be the champion of the world. Billy Mitchell already holds the title of Gamer of the Century. The movie has received great reviews and my copy showed up today but I have not gotten a chance to watch it yet. I thought our members may want to check this out many may remember seeing Billy Mitchell at the Xbox Live Pac-Man tournament in New York City last year when they also announced the new Pac-Man CE arcade title. Both gamers are old school players who love to compete.

Spike TV’s Video Game Award Show will air on December 9th at 9:00 PM EST. The annual award show is known for guest celebrities and big named hosts. This year they announced that Video Game Live will appear and play on the show. The well known group said it was an honor to be asked to perform during the show. Other guests announced are appearances by Chris Angel, Tony Hawk, Tia Carrere, Steve-O and others. More celebrities are going to be announced soon the show is one of the highest rating shows on Spike TV each year.
