Anyone who likes movies and videogames knows the name Uwe Boll he has directed several movies based on videogames. He has earned several awards from rotten tomatoes not something to be proud of. He is known for his arrogance and he is ruining the genre of videogame movies. This is one of the strangest news articles I have ever posted but it’s 100 percent true!

Uwe Boll made a promise that if 1 million people signed the petition by clicking here. He would stop directing and making films based on any videogame. It seems the people at Stride Gum want to also see a stop to awful movies. Today they announced they would offer the first million signers a free coupon for a pack of gum. The free gum is not really the incentive here it is a chance for your voice to be heard. It’s also a chance to let people who love the videogame genre make decent films. It’s already too late for Postal or Far Cry but I thought it was rather interesting a major company would get involved to help stop Boll’s directing. The catch is simple the deadline is May 14th if there is 1 million signatures they will each get a downloadable coupon for a free pack of gum. Show your support and stop Uwe Boll from ruining any more movies please!

7-11 & Full Throttle Introduce Guitar Hero Slurpee & Contest

You might remember when 7-11 had those cool Halo 3 cups? Well, a new Slurpee flavor has been made to kick off this summer and Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. The new flavor is made with a mix of Full Throttle to give rockers that extra kick to keep rocking. 7-11 is smart they are also introducing a limited cup set and a chance for Xbox 360 gamers to win some cool stuff.

I am really looking forward to getting my hands on the game Prototype. While the game is scheduled for a fall release today Sierra opened the door so to speak to a brand new website for the game. The 5th annual 1Up awards are over and Activision’s Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock walked away with Best Music Game. GH: III had a great year and claimed the #1 title in total sales according to the NPD. Guitar Hero: III has earned many awards and shows that the franchise is still a strong one for the industry.

Grand Theft Auto IV Website Gets Updated

I posted the new website a few weeks ago which allows gamers to take a look around the city of Grand Theft Auto IV. I just received news that Rockstar games have updated the site with brand new videos and new commercials. For those who visited the San Andreas website may remember they had some great commercials and spoofs. Take a look at the site and check back often with the game releasing in April the site will be updated often. CandyGram Hits Facebook in Time for Valentine’s Day

Facebook had become the place where that we like to share notes, network with others and compete against our friends. I was sent word that a new game called CandyGram is now available on Facebook. You need to solve the puzzle made of chocolate letter tiles and then you can send a secret message to a friend. Sounds pretty cool but there is a catch in order for a friend to read your message they have to beat your score first. I can see this one becoming a popular game on Facebook to install the game click here.

Peter Moore Starts “Inside the Game” Blog

We all know that Peter Moore is now at EA as President of EA Sports. Having the new title also has the man very busy and it’s been some time since we have heard from him. Well he has started a blog called Inside the Game and it looks like this will be a weekly updated blog. Here the opening from his first entry:

“One week ago, I was sitting with my family in Glendale, Arizona. It was Super Bowl Sunday and I was hoping—and fully expecting—to watch my undefeated New England Patriots wipe out the New York Giants to become Super Bowl Champs, the first team to complete a perfect season in more than three decades, and rightfully position themselves as the greatest football team of all time.”

I am sure Peter Moore was not the only Football fan out there thinking the Patriots would run all over the Giants. You know I thought the game was going to be close and I predicted it would be a 7 point game but the winner would be the NY Giants.
