XBS COD MW 2 MadCatz Contest Starts Today

Thanks to Alex over at MadCatz I am kicking off the XBS COD MW2 contest today. Winners will receive either a MadCatz Xbox 360 MW 2 controller (white or Black our choice or an Xbox 360 Throat Communicator) One Grand Prize Winner will win A controller and a Throat Communicator the color of the controller will again be our choice. The MW 2 controller looks great and has special buttons on the bottom to allow for mapping weapons and other features. The Throat Communicator uses the same technology as the Military. Take a look at the screen shots below. Here is how to enter to make it fair I wanted to offer 2 ways to enter the first way is to post in our forums in the contest thread. I have placed a few suggestions when posting there. The second way is to follow me on Twitter Col_Blair you must allow me to DM you on Twitter to win. The rules are simple the contest is open to anyone in the US Winners must be 18 or over to receive the prize. One post in the forums and you must be a registered member to post in the forums. If asked to RT a message on Twitter only one is needed as not to spam other followers. Winners will be chosen and all dissensions are final in the event a winner is ineligible another winner will be pick. Let’s kick off the countdown to the biggest game of the year with some free swag. New Releases This Week in Stores & XBL Marketplace

This week we have Dragon Age: Origins from BioWare and EA Also there is Lego Rock Band from TT Games and Harmonix. On the XBL Marketplace you have the new Brutal Legend DC pack Tears of the Hextadon. Rock Band DLC packs from Foo Fighters 03 and The Nirvana Bleach DLC pack. It’s going to be another expensive week enjoy.

Left 4 Dead 2 TV Spot #2 Starts to air This Week

Valve sent over the newest TV spot for Left 4 Dead 2 the game comes out November 17th. Enjoy the spot which features music from the group clutch. The game will have new weapons, modes and of course new Zombies to kill.

Footage of Tears of the Hextadon DLC Pack Watch it in our Forums

I was sent a video today featuring Double Fine’s own Kee Chi and Brad Muir as they go head to head while Tim Schafer himself offers commentary. The footage is from the Brutal Legend DLC pack Tears of Hextadon. This DLC pack contains two maps and the Axe of Odin. The cost will be 400 MS and hits tomorrow on XBL. It will also be on the PSN on November 5th. You need to stop by our forums to watch the video but I hope you enjoy it.

Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City Weekend CelebrationG

To celebrate the release of Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City which includes both The Lost and the Damned and The Balled of Gay Tony on one special disc today. The disc version does not require the original GTAIV disc and retails for $39.99. Of course you can buy the new episode from the XBL marketplace but you will need to use the GTAIV disc to launch it. Rockstar has a weekend plan with special events for Gold XBL Members. See below for all the details.

Left for Dead 2: Demo Released for the Xbox 360 & PC

For those who pre-ordered Valve’s Left 4 Dead 2 the Demo went live on the XBL Marketplace yesterday. The PC demo hit today so start downloading and take a look at the upcoming sequel. I got a chance to play the Xbox 360 version and was surprised at the changes and the look of the game. Valve really made some great changes to make it a bit more realistic and less hand-holding while playing. Please remember this is for those who pre-ordered only Gold XBL members will have a chance to play the demo in early November.

DJ Hero Scratches its way Into Stores Today

The new DJ scratching game DJ Hero is in stores today. Activision is letting gamers experience the life of a real DJ and scratch master. The game includes the turntable controller and yes it is wireless. There is also a Renegade version this comes in a hard-shell case that turns into a stand and also has gold finish on the controller. The special Renegade Edition also comes with 2 song CD from Jay-Z and EMINEM.

Tekken 6 Hits Stores Today

Namco Bandai’s Tekken 6 is in stores today and this is the first time Xbox 360 owners get a chance to play a Tekken game. The game is available in 2 versions the game only or the game and a special Limited Edition wireless fight stick & Art Book. Tekken fans have been waiting for the next game and it’s now out. If your interested in the special bundle with the Wireless fight stick and art book check your local store to see if they are available this was a pre-order bundle.

Forza 3 Races Into Stores Today

For racing fans Turn 10’s Forza 3 is now in stores everywhere with over 400 cars the new Forza is huge. The game includes a code to redeem 10 classic cars from past Forza games (in game credits needed to add then to your garage) also a pack that includes the test tracks including Sidewinder. The new Forza contains more tools for those who enjoy custom painting their cars and new features. It’s going to be another expensive week as several new games are in stores this week.

Brutal Legend DLC Tears of the Hextadon Slated for November 3rd

Double Fine and EA sent word that a new DLC pack will be released for Brutal Legend on November 3rd. The new DLC pack will be called Tears of the Hextadon and will cost 400 MS Points the new DLC pack will expand the multiplayer experience. Brutal Legend has receive praise from reviewers and gamers alike the new DLC pack should help keep gamers playing the game and add two great maps to play on as an added bonus everyone who downloads the new DLC pack will receive a free Axe, The Blade of Ormagöden to add to the arsenal of weapons.

Dead Space Only 19.99 on XBL Games on Demand Starting Tomorrow

It’s almost Halloween and EA wants to help gamers get in the spirit. Starting tomorrow EA’s Dead Space will be available for only 19.99 on the XBL service Games on Demand. Take control of Isaac Clarke and see if you can solve what exactly is going on in the space station. Games on Demand allow you to buy full games and download them right to your Hard Drive. Dead Space is a perfect game for this week and at 19.99 it’s a good deal.

NHL 10 Xbox 360 Community Playdate Oct, 28th 3-9 PST

XBS will take part in the NHL Community Playdate on October 28th from 3:00-9:00 PM (PST) I will add all the gamertags and if you send a request please say or type NHL 10 Playdate. Patch Released for NBA 2K10 Today

RockBand Hits iPhone App Store

If you want to get your RockBand fix and are on the road RockBand is now out on the app Store on iTunes. Works with the ITouch and the iPhone you must have the 3.0 or higher OS installed. Also they released 2 free song packs just go to the music store while in the game and pick them enter your password and they will download. The game also features a 4-player mode using Bluetooth and has the world tour and a single player World tour. You can even post your scores on Facebook new music packs are priced at 99 cents for two songs. The game is $9.99 right now I have been impressed with it so far and is a good portable version of the full game.

Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City Base Jumping Clip

San Andres had Base jumping and it was popular and a fun feature. When GTA IV hit the game was great but sadly they did not allow you to base jump anymore. Now Rockstar sent over this clip that shows the new base jumping feature in the multiplayer mode when you buy the new DLC The Balled of Gay Tony which is being released both as a double episode retail disc and on the XBL marketplace. You must be over the age of 21 to watch enter your birth date and enjoy this clip. You’ll see the teaser for the upcoming contest on the Social Club teams of two will compete for the best time. Watch it though as others in your game can slow you down by using weapons and making it harder. Sounds like a cool contest to kick off the new DLC content.

Panzer General Allied Assault Hits XBL Arcade Today

Priced at $39.99 this is a great family title and perfect for any age. Some stores already have it others will have it by tomorrow.
