How Do You Set Your Connection For Xbox 360 Live From Your Computer?

i am planning on buying a new wireless router because my router keeps kicking me off xbox 360 live. i would like to see if my computer connection would be any better before i spend my money on a new wireless router . i have the xbox 360 wireless network adaptor.

Ah, a wonderful thing.
I actually do this now, the cable wasn’t long enough for my router, so i needed a better solution.
what you need to do is get a computer (I use a laptop) and you need to open up your network connections.
then you need to click on the wireless network connection that you are connected to and OPEN your network connections properties.
(depending on what computer you have, vista or just reg. windows, the setup is different, but the properties link should be right there.)
from properties there will be two tabs at the top, one of them should be SHARING and click on that tab.
next, two checkboxes should come up with descriptions.
1. allow other users/sources to connect through this device.
Note: this will be unchecked. YOU NEED TO CHECK IT.
this will allow your xbox to connect through your computer.
2. there is another box as well, i dont remember what it says, but I have it unchecked. Just to be safe, I’d uncheck it.
This works perfectly for me, on 2 out of 3 laptops.
Try using different computers if it doesnt work on one.

Im sure you know, but you’re going to need to connect using the cable that your xbox came with or another cat cable.
it just connects through the usb port.
