If you have been waiting to get your hands on the new Mad Catz Fender Bass for Rock Band 1 and 2 there is some good news. Today Mad Catz announced it has started to ship units out. A few stores already have them in stock but in limited quantities. I also know some stores are now posting a release date of September 10th so just watch and check with the store you are going to before heading out to buy it.

Priced at $69.99 the Mad Catz Fender Bass Guitar is designed with a split strum bar for a more realistic feeling. The Over Drive will work and the bass has a bit more weight added to it. It also can be used as a guitar in Rock Band 1 or 2 but instead of a Whammy bar it has a Whammy wheel (located at the volume dial) this is to keep the look of a real bass. The unit is not wireless but USB powered. This is one of many new 3rd party products Mad Catz is making for the game. Mad Catz also has a drum set and other items being released soon the Bass is for the Xbox 360 version only right now.
