Xbox 360 Will Feature 60 Gig Hard Drive Starting in August
The first news of E3 hit but not at E3 we knew about this one but wanted to wait for Microsoft to confirm it. Yesterday MS did exactly that the Xbox 360 system with the 20 gig hard drive is now priced $299.99. The pro system will feature a 60 gig Hard Drive starting in August for the same price of $349.99. While the news is great and a 60 gig hard drive would certainly come in handy we are waiting to hear if MS is going to offer the Hard Drive alone with an incentive or rebate for those who already own an Xbox 360. I am hoping MS decides to either offer the 60 gig HD as a standalone accessory and make it affordable or drop the price of the 120 gig hard drive. Expect more news from E3 tonight as the MS conference is currently underway.

yeah we hope but don’t hold your breath, Besides avoiding all kinds of lawsuits by extending the warranty for the 360, what has MS done for us Period? Oh we messed up with our servers in December so here is a free game of OUR choice on us? Please! Yes I am a bit angry over the fact that after 6 refurbish replacements, they can’t give us a new system with the falcon chip and hdmi support.
yeah well…i hope they give us some kind of incentive toward getting a 60gig hdd, anyways, you know, i’ve always wondered, MS is the worlds software goliath and they are also the proud owners of Internet Explorer, ok, so why is’nt there a browser so we can surf and check our E-mails through our Xboxes, Oversight? or just plain old business politics. can someone tell me?.
@Freshtex I have to be honest with you I hope the day never comes when they add a web browser and Email to the Xbox 360. I have a computer and a BlackBerry for that I don’t need to check my mail and surf the web on my 360 I want to play games.
(thumbs up rich)
yeah I agree with rich, I have a computer for browsing BUT for those who don’t own a computer, a browser may be a nice option. I just haven’t seen a browser yet on any console thats worth a damn.
when is this gunna happin?
@Joey it already has? I am not sure what you are asking?
actually the ps3 has a pretty nice browser on it plays videos etc. can browse any site on the web…the xbox 360 needs to evolve some more…but i still like it better than the ps3
I think it depends on what you are looking from a console… I don’t want my 360 to have a browser, what for?!? I have never used the browser on my PS3, I don’t personally see the need for it on a console.
I have to agree with Andres and we have talked about this many times. On the PSP a browser made some sense on a cell phone perfect sense but on a home console why? I have a computer for that if I really need to look something up or visit a site I can use my computer. Game consoles are for gaming!
I know people will say but I don’t have my computer in the same room or just don’t have one. I can understand but really the browsers they have for the systems are poor and just like the MSN option added to the XBL I never have used it I don’t want to text with people while playing maybe I am just thinking old school but I just don’t understand the appeal?
