Yes, the rumors are true today EA, Harmonix and MTV games announced Rock Band 2 for a September release. Although the announcement was a bit weak it may have gave a few answers fans wondered about. All DLC content will work with Rock Band 2 although it was announced the new bundles would have enhancements. My guess is that you won’t need to replace everything in order to play the game. I am happy that they are going ahead with another but I do have concerns the last DLC Album from the Pixies cost gamers almost $20.00 this is a trend that needs to be stopped! Set a price maybe 1200 Microsoft points max for each album and keep the songs and the same price. As far as a song list or what enhancements are coming all will be answered at E3 this year. I know there is a huge Rock Band event scheduled so watch for more information soon. I guess with Guitar Hero 4: World Tour the battle is on and should make for an interesting Christmas season. Rock Band 2 will also hit the PS3 at a later date.

I have always hated when a game or game system launched on a Sunday just one of those odd things. In any case this Sunday Guitar Hero: Aerosmith lands in stores. There are special midnight events hosted by BestBuy, and other places but you need to check in your area. The game is shipping in 2 ways game only and the bundle with wireless guitar and limited edition faceplate. The bundle is $99.99 and also comes with a tour book. It will also have both online and offline co-op modes and some great songs.

Spore Galactic Edition Announced

It shows that gamers have a strong interest in the upcoming PC title Spore so EA and Maxis have announced a special edition loaded with free stuff and extras. Spore Galactic Edition will feature a free DVD teaching and showing secrets of the Spore Universe. A second DVD How to build a better being that aired on National Geographic Channel and a 100 page book. Along with a cool fold out poster and behind the scene footage from the developers all packed in a special box set.

Call of Duty: World at War Announced

By now everyone knows the rumors are true the next Call of Duty will return to WWII and Treyarch is at the helm of this one. Call of Duty: World at War sounds like a mixture of the last game and a return to the roots of the original series. Right now you can download the teaser trailer on the marketplace and take a look. I am going to be honest I thought COD 4 nailed things perfectly and was really hoping they would continue with that angle. Returning back to WWII may be a good idea but I need to see more. It seems that the single player mode will offer a deeper story. Stay tune for more on this since E3 is right around the corner I am sure we will learn more.

Tor Books announced the next Halo Novel The Cole Protocol which should be great news for fans of the series. The Cole Protocol will be written by Tobias S. Buckell and an audio edition is also planned. The book will take fans deeper into the Halo Universe and will tell the location of the Spartan Gray Team. It also will show alliances formed that will surprise fans of the series. No date for release yet but it’s confirmed and I wanted to pass the word on to our readers.
