BioShock Coming to the PS3 is This a Sign?
2K announced that an enhanced version of the hit game BioShock is being made for the PS3 console. The new enhanced version is slated for an October release date. Gamers have seen an exclusive title head over to another system before. However the rules have changed a long time ago Exclusive meant “6” months or more to one console. Then the war heated up and exclusive titles meant having to own a certain console in order to play that game or franchise.
I don’t like to speculate or spread rumors but when I see a trend or move I feel I have to post about it. BioShock may be the start of the end of exclusive titles made by third party developers. If you think about it most companies want their title to reach as many people as possible. Now I know that there will always be certain in house titles from Microsoft and Sony that will remain on their consoles only. I wanted to post this to let you comment on it are the days of exclusive titles seeing their end?

WTF? what do they mean by “enhanced” can’t they update bioshock for the 360? The exclusive titles are winding down for microsoft. how did that happen?
It is not enhanced graphicly..they just added some bio med things that the 360 doesn’t have ( I forget the names )
I think exclusives are important, lets face it; Halo on the PS3? doesn’t sound right. Or how about MGS4 or Xbox? Nah, exclusives are important to companies like Sony and MS. and I personally don’t ever want to see Mario on PS3 that’d be like wearing womens underwear. (well not exactly like, but….). And how would GTAV run on the tiny little Wii? Hmm, I think exclusives will be around to stay at least for a few years as they help to shift hardware.
Halo 3 shifted tons of 360’s, and I think MGS4, LBP will shift tons of units too. Ending exclusives could mean ending consoles, and just having one manufacturer of consoles, which has already been mooted before, and that would be terrible. The leading company would be able to sell you any old shite, and it makes no sense. I mean, do we have just the 1 car manufacturer, 1 PC manufacturer, 1 Microwave manufacturer. Wwell, you get the point.
You guys missed the part where I said in house exclusives will remain. It’s the third party companies that are starting to go all multi platform.
what would it really matter.this could only inspire microsoft and sony to produce better in-house games, instead of relying on others to make their consol’s great.
i see better games to be the result of this.
@Waldo: This article was talking about third-party exclusive titles. Games like Halo and Mario are first-party. They’re made by Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo themselves.
Bio shock is an excellent game and I am just excited that those with a PS3 can now enjoy it, Rich and I have all 3 systems so we are not biased in any way shape or form on this site, 3rd party company’s are almost forced to go multi platform to make any decent profit these days….I hope this encourages First party company’s to step up to the plate now.
