EA Extends Interactive Videogame Agreement With NFL and NFL Players Until 2012
EA announced that their exclusive interactive videogame agreement with the NFL and NFL Players Association is extended until 2012. While I am sure many fans are happy with the news some were hoping a new deal would be worked out to allow for others to use the NFL license to bring competition to the videogame market. In short EA hold all rights to the NFL the Hall of Fame and NFL films and this also includes mobile, handheld and all other gaming formats including consoles and online play. I really didn’t think EA would lose the rights and also knew the deal was soon up for renewal but this has to be a shock for those hoping for 2K to get a part of the deal. I think EA already knew the deal was going to be extended since at this year’s Madden Bowl Peter Moore said that he was very excited about Madden NFL 09 and gamers are going to be amazed. Now the next question is what are they going to add to Madden this year?

This is garbage.
Well this just makes sure that I wont be buying a NFL game till after 2012. So for another 4 years we get the lame 60$ Madden roster updates, Madden has been and will continue to be crap till they allow some one else to use the NFL license and push EA to make a better game and not sit on their butts and cash in each year.
