Logitech Z-2300 PC Speaker System Product Review
Here at Xboxsolution we are at our computers at odd hours of the day and for long periods of time. Since we are spending so much time at our computers, especially around this time of year, we are fortunate that the PC has become more than just for work or gaming. During those many hours, I love to listen to music while writing and working. Having the right speakers is important.
Many of the speaker systems out there promise great sound and may look good, but when you hook them up, they fail to deliver the sound you wanted. You can have a great PC, Monitor and set-up, but without great speakers you are going to miss out. Music has become a vital part of gaming and our lives in general. I wanted to review Logitech’s Z-2300 PC Speakers. Read the full review to see why these are the perfect speakers for anyone.
First Impressions
The box is huge and so is the subwoofer as it should be with 200 watts of power behind it. I love the silver and black finish and the fact the satellites were not too large. The subwoofer and satellites connect in about 5 minutes and they even add a very cool control center that can be placed anywhere. For me the control center is one of the main selling points of this system. You can hook in your headset and the speakers automatically mute. You can also turn off the power or I should say set it to standby mode and adjust the volume and the bass level of subwoofer.
Also included is an adapter for hooking up my Xbox 360 or any gaming console making them ideal for gaming or for work. The speakers on the Z-2300 are THX certified and sound fantastic. For those with a small work center, the wires are hidden and they are extra long if needed. The size of the subwoofer may intimidate a few initially, but once you hear it even at a low volume, the sound is fantastic. I also have grown very fond of the control center and the fact I don’t need to reach down and switch off the subwoofer every night. I just need to turn off the power from the control center and I like that.

Final Impressions
Final Impressions: Logitech’s Z-2300 system retails for $149.99 and is worth the price. I have seen and used higher priced systems that either had too much tint to the satellites or the mid-range speakers or had a thumping bass that broke up. Throw in the fact you can also use this for your gaming console and it’s a big bonus. A powerful system rated at 80 watts for the satellites and 200 watts for the subwoofer. I also liked the fact Logitech added a heavy power cord for the subwoofer and while it’s 8 inch subwoofer the cabinet fits easily under your feet in most workstations. Add in the long cord for the control center and the system is perfect for any PC user. I have tested the system out with games, media center and iTunes. The speakers have a well-rounded sound and even at higher volumes there is no distortion or break up.
Bottom Line
Overall Score: 9.1/10.0
Additional Comments
I know $150.00 dollars is not cheap, but speakers are an investment. While many people prefer the 5 speaker systems out there, I like the three speaker set up for my PC. If you add all the features including THX certified and the control center, it’s a great system that will fit anyone’s PC System. The bottom Line is Logitech’s Z-2300 Speakers rock and is the perfect gift for anyone needing a new PC speaker system. 200 watts ain’t bad. I have a logitech 5.1 I bought from gamestop on clearance for $39.99 and it sounds great. I have no doubt that this system will sound great also.
