The first week sales figures are in on Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. While the game was released on all the consoles the game is hot! First week sales have reached over 115 million and still going strong. This record makes it the biggest product launch for Activision ever. The game is so popular that this weeks South Park episode is based around the game. The first download pack was made available through the special limited edition CD GH: III Legends of Rock Companion Pack those who bought it and registered it at interscope records received three special songs for the Xbox 360.
The game offers many features that have gamers wanting this title including changeable guitar faceplates, Boss battles and the great wireless Gibson guitar. As well as new downloadable song packs which will soon start hitting the Xbox 360 marketplace prices have not been announced for those yet. Activision is proud of the game and the fact it is on several of the hottest items for Christmas including Toys R Us and other big retail chains. Demand is still high and the game has not even launched in the Europe yet the date is set for November 23rd. With the demand so high Activision is worried about the demand during the Christmas holiday season and has increased production to help insure gamers won’t be left out. And its only gonna go up. Guitar Hero, and soon Rock Band, will be franchises that no one can touch. Good for them. Reaching an audience of music lovers and musicians how could you go wrong… unless of course, the game sucks.
