Microsoft Releases Xbox 360 Arcade Console
News from Microsoft, today they announced the Xbox 360 Arcade console is now available in stores for $279.99. Although the timing is off since they have been in certain stores for a few days the new system is basically a core system with a pre loaded 256MB memory card that has five arcade games on it. I can see where this may appeal to certain causal gamers but really it has all the features including HDMI and a wireless controller. Perhaps the reason for the press release is due to the fact some retail chains got their hands on extra memory cards loaded with the arcade titles and had them bundled with the elite systems last week? The system comes with Pac-Man CE, UNO, Luxor 2, Boom Boom Rocket and Feeding Frenzy.

Does core system contain HDD also to save multimedia and gaming content or its only the memory card which can be used to store games unlocked stages and players.
The core console does not come with a hard drive or memory card you would have to buy a hard drive or 512 memory card. The arcade system does come with a 512 memory card and will hold either hard drive. You would need to buy those though for multimedia you would want a hard drive.
