Maybe this is common knowledge, but the better your score is for any given mission in the story series, the more parts you are rewarded.
To defeat the final mission, I made a custom hound. I used the heaviest Heavy Gunner base, and I used a mix of the hardest hitting Heavy and Soldier guns and arrived at a Hvy/Sol hybrid.
I made it so two of the heavy guns went off per trigger pull (four total so I could alternate shots), and all four of the soldier guns shot at the same time.
Once I engaged the two hounds, any time a gun was able to be fired, it was. I unloaded everything non-stop until the target quit twitching.
Basically I overpowered both of the opposing hounds shamefully. That’s the reason I’m listing this in the cheat section, allthough it’s nothing more than making the best use of resources at hand.
Goosd luck with the fight. They are heavily armored, and even more heavily armed.
Do not try to use parts, or assymblies using parts bought or won from Live in the Story campaign. You simply can’t do it.
ok so for the last mission do basicly what GrfxGawd said make your own hound with heavy armor and heavy guns the first time i used the WAL-1 and the WAL-2 (there the rocket pods that shoot 6 rockest at a time) and then i had 4 cannons on there for the weapon settings have 1 all the WAL’s then 2 have 2 cannons then 3 have the other two then for four have all the cannons. i grouped the cannoncs two at a time because the recoil will make 2 out of 4 shots miss…
when you first go in kill the tanks with the cannons easy one hit K.O
but then stick to the left and go on top of the hill and you can kill the rest of the tanks from there then go further up the hill and you sould be able to see one of the hounds use the 4 cannons and shoot at it but be sure to aim up a little move because hes out of range then you can do that a few times befor he comes at you then use the hill as cover while you still bombard him and make sure to use the WALs carfully and only when hes really close so all of them hit then just keep unloading and do the same for both hounds and thats it it sould only take a few minutes…
i made a hound with 3 or 4 sniper cannons, one WAL, and 3 anti-hound rockets.
when you start, destroy the tanks around and take up residence on the hill to the right and start shooting to the hounds (it doesn’t really matter there going to come for you anyway), make sure you get rid of him before he gets to you (make sure you use the rock for cover to you legs, you’ll need them later), then start firing at the next hound that comes down (or is coming down), while moving down the right sight of the hill towards the town, or whats left of it. the big hound will pursue you and its really slow, make your way around the mountain edge through the gap and destroy the tanks if you wish. move up into the town you saw on the clip and look for the commander hound attack his cockpit and he should go down pretty easily. after you destroy him go down the road where the other hounds came from as quickly as you can and hide behind a rock, because soon the big one will be coming around the hill soon. first pump him with sniper, only aiming for his cockpit and when he is in range pump him full of anti-hound rockets and the launcher he should go down pretty easily as long as you keep your distance so he cant use his experimental weapon (usually killing you).
for this you get treaded chassis and a huge cannon.
You know how you guys made a hybrid ACV in order to perform the task of defeating the black hounds? I just used the borrowed hound and got an S rank on my first attempt. Jealous?
Here's a little trick to help stay in a battle longer. All you need to do is use spacers to position your cockpit behind either your generator or a large heavy weapon. Then just put guns, armor, the generator/heavy gun (depending on which one you attached the cockpit to) around the cockpit in any way you wish. This can be very helpful on the final mission, but trust me when I say that it may take a few tries to find a design that works for you ( took me like six or seven different hound designs before I did it).
lol for the last mission i put an open cockpit on wheels with 4 antihound piles…the story mode hounds are absolute garbage i took down carlos and oscar in one shot each and danced circles around edgardo's trashcan and finished him off in 3 blows
