HDTV FAQ – What resolutions and aspect ratios does Xbox support?

Xbox supports six resolution/aspect ratio combinations:Â
| Resolution | Aspect | Comments |
| 480i | 4:3 | Standard NTSC video; same as regular TV |
| 480i | 16:9 | Includes ID1/WSS support |
| 480p | 4:3 | Progressive-scan video, but technically *not* HDTV |
| 480p | 16:9 | Widescreen, though still not HDTV |
| 720p | 16:9 | HDTV; always 16:9 |
| 1080i | 16:9 | HDTV; always 16:9 |
