What is Dolby Digital?Dolby Digital is a digital audio encoding method that provides ‘5.1′ surround sound, among other formats. With a proper system, you get five discrete channels of audio (left front, right front, center front, left rear, right rear) and a low frequency effects (LFE) channel (the ‘.1′) which usually goes directly to a sub-woofer.
