Konami Sponsors NASPE Event & Showcases DDR

Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today announced its participation at this year’s AAHPERD (American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance) Convention. With its groundbreaking game series, Dance Dance Revolution® (DDR), Konami has created a fun and healthy way for children and adults to become more active and realize the benefits of physical activity. DDR will be prominently featured at the 2006 AAHPERD trade show (booth # 1634). This year’s AAHPERD convention is scheduled to be held from April 26th through April 28th at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The AAHPERD convention is one of the largest gatherings of health and physical educators in the nation.
Throughout the convention, Konami will be instructing our nation’s physical education teachers on the associated health benefits of DDR and ways to incorporate the game into their Physical Education curriculum. The company will highlight its recently signed three-year partnership with the State of West Virginia that brings DDR into the physical education or health related curriculum based programs in all of the state’s 765 K-12 public schools. Additionally, Konami will discuss other case studies from across the country of how teachers have incorporated DDR into their PE curriculum, as well as success stories about people who have found health benefits from using DDR.

The Battle of the Gods expansion pack for Black & White ® 2 offers players a host of new challenges in a darker, more sinister game world.  In the expansion pack, players return to Eden where something strange has happened:  The Aztecs have raised their own evil deity, which must be confronted head-on for control of the land.  Players have the freedom to choose how they will rise to this new challenge – by countering the evil deity’s actions with good deeds or attempting to defeat him with extreme evil.

When EA first announced they had obtained the exclusive rights to The Godfather movie I thought that is cool, but how could they make a game that would not remind gamers of other movie-based titles? It is risky to try and make any game from a movie or well-known series since many times the result is a game where all the player does is follow the story line and feels trapped in the confines of the plot.

Electronic Arts announced that NFL MVP and NFC Champion running back Shaun Alexander will appear on the cover of Madden NFL 07, the newest iteration of the EA SPORTSâ„¢ best-selling football franchise with the official videogame license of the NFL and its players. With this year’s focus on the running game, Alexander is the perfect representative for the cover of the most popular football videogame franchise. Last year Madden NFL 06 sold more than six million copies.

Electronic Arts and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today they have secured an all-star cast for the voices in SUPERMAN RETURNSâ„¢: THE VIDEOGAME. The game will feature the voice and likeness of Brandon Routh (Superman/Clark Kent) as well as the voices of Kevin Spacey (Lex Luthor), Kate Bosworth (Lois Lane), Parker Posey (Kitty Kowalski) and Sam Huntington (Jimmy Olsen), all reprising their roles from the upcoming Warner Bros. Pictures film directed by Bryan Singer.
