Lara Croft, the world’s first digital sex symbol, celebrated her birthday on February 14. True to the independent and contrarian traits of the Aquarian sign, Lara will not reveal her age.

While she shares her birthday with Valentine’s Day, Lara will have no time for flowers, candy or adoring suitors. She is on-location in La Paz, Bolivia gearing up for her latest video game adventure – Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend, which begins amid ancient ruins in Bolivia. The game hits retail stores worldwide on April 11 for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, Xbox® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PC. Tomb Raider: Legend will also ship for Xbox® 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PSPâ„¢ (PlayStation®Portable) at a later date to be announced.

Lara Croft blasted through the gaming world’s old-boy-network 10 years ago as the first leading lady in a video game. Since then her name has sold more than 30 million video games and inspired music videos, comic books, amusement park attractions and two blockbuster films. When not raiding tombs, Lara has been found gracing magazine covers such as Entertainment Weekly and promoting everything from energy drinks to breakfast cereals.

Since her debut in 1996, Lara’s star has continued to rise. She was even nominated as one of Time Magazine’s Most Influential Figures of the 20th Century.

Her new video game, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend, will be published by Eidos Interactive and presents Lara in the finest fidelity to date. A revamped control system provides intuitive and fluid character movement, while a compelling storyline and vast environments lure players into an unrivaled adventure experience.
