With a new system of course comes a new version of Tony Hawk. Its par for the course, after all, this is the Birdman’s seventh edition of his franchise. I had already reviewed the Xbox version and while I enjoyed the game I also thought it was a little easier. The new tricks included and the BMX tricks were enough to keep me happy.

The Xbox 360 brought us two basketball titles to pick from, EA and 2K sports. No surprises, after all, the two have been trying to out-do each other for years. It’s fitting since in the real sport there are rivals that just enjoy playing each other and it seems to bring out the best in each team when they compete against each other. Basketball is a great sport and one that I enjoy, the seasons never seem to end but I enjoy watching it.

Check the line-up of hit TV shows and you will find many that deal with special crime units. People are fascinated with the acts and the minds of these criminals. It’s not just TV though. Some of the biggest grossing movies have been based on or partly on the acts of a famous criminal. Perhaps people want to try and understand why someone can do the unthinkable? Or maybe it’s just due to the fact as humans we are curious by nature. While both TV and Hollywood have done a good job with some of the better shows and movies, they seem to almost place these criminals in the spotlight and glorify their crimes. Some shows, including some of my favorites, show the personality and mental state of the person and dig deeper instead of just showing their violent crime or action.

Today Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest video game publishers, revealed that its critically acclaimed game of the year contender, Peter Jackson’s King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie features an un-lockable, exclusive alternate ending in which players can save the giant ape from his cinematic death, pilot an airplane and discover Kong back home on his native Skull Island. The game, rated “T” for Teen, based on Universal Pictures’ release, King Kong, from three-time Academy Award® winner Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings trilogy), is positioned to be the top-selling title for the holiday season and is currently available nationwide.
“I wanted the game to be able to take the audience a bit further than what the film could,” said Peter Jackson. “And the final climax of the game gave us an opportunity to do something that the film could not do, which was to have an alternate ending — obviously everybody pretty much knows how King Kong ends.”
