Developer Eden Games would like to welcome race fans to their new Xbox 360 title Test Drive Unlimited. This game sounds like any race enthusiasts dream come true. It will feature some very slick sports cars for players to choose. However this one will also let us twist the throttle on some of the fastest motorcycles in the world.

There will be over 125 authentic cars and motorcycles to choose from in this title. Each of the vehicles is a faithful representation of their real world models. The developer is paying attention to every little detail for both the interior and exterior of the cars. Gamers can also fully customize the appearance and performance of each vehicle in this upcoming Test Drive game.

Rather than trap us on predetermined race tracks the developer is giving gamers over 1,000 miles of open road to play on. Players will be able to use over fifty custom options to create their own challenges and race courses. This feature lets you determine the rules or objectives of the race and where the start and finish line is at.

The very core of the gameplay in this one will be Xbox Live . This game will create an online racing community unlike any other. Gamers can compete with one another to win credits or cars online. The credits won from a race can be used for buying new vehicles or upgrading a current vehicle. To keep the multiplayer experience fair and balanced the developer has included a match making system. This is system will match players up against gamers of a similar skill level.

XBS Commentary - Our Thoughts

Most driving games do not offer players the kind of freedom that is being advertised in Test Drive Unlimited. I’m usually happy if I can choose my own vehicle for any particular race. However I never dreamed of being able to design my own course for online play. I can’t wait to see what the creative minds of the gaming community can create with this feature. Another thing that really got my attention is the inclusion of motorcycles. Most developers usually focus on either cars or motorcycles. Being able to pit sport bikes against some of the world’s fastest cars should add a whole new twist to the genre. I can’t wait to see how a pocket rocket will do in a race against a Lamborghini.

The developer is not letting the graphical power of the Xbox 360 go to waste, some of the screenshots I’ve seen for it are jaw dropping. The scenery surrounding the road is beautifully rendered. Cars and motorcycles have never looked this good in a video game before. There has been plenty of attention paid to the small details of the cars, you can actually see the interior features through the windows or open tops of the convertibles. Overall I think this game will keep any racing enthusiast happy for a long time when it’s released this fall.
