XBS Commentary - Our Thoughts

Being a life long comic book fan I’m very excited about this baby. There have been a few attempts in the past to put comic book characters in a fighting game. Each instance has met with some success but never really captured the feel of the characters. The developer may be on the verge of giving us a great fighter that stays true to the superhero’s origins. Some of the footage I’ve seen from this one makes me think of the recent movies made from comic books. The battles look every bit as intense as the fights seen in the Spiderman and X-men movies.

The story that has been mixed into this is a fresh start for this genre as well. There have always been the usual comic book games with your favorite hero taking on his trade mark enemies. However I’ve never heard of an entirely new comic book series and characters being created for a video game. One thing that has got me drooling over Marvel Nemesis is the arcade mode. The idea of being able to take control of a fight between Spiderman and Venom will be worth the cover charge alone. The developer is definitely pulling out all the stops on this title, and I believe this will be a great purchase for fans of the fighting genre and comic books well.
