Global video games publisher Namco Hometek Inc. announced today that “Namco Museumâ„¢ 50th Anniversary” is now available in stores. Fans of 1980’s classic gaming as well as the new generation of gamers will all find something to love in this 14-game virtual arcade. Now available for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox(R) video game system from Microsoft, Nintendo GameCubeâ„¢ and Game Boy® Advance, the PC version ships in September. Namco has released the game in celebration of its 50th Anniversary and has included, for the first time, a soundtrack with some of the greatest 1980’s hits, including “Come On Eileen” from Dexy’s Midnight Runners.

Ubisoft, one of the world’s leading video game publishers, announced that it has signed an exclusive deal with Red Mile Entertainmentâ„¢ to publish and distribute the Heroes of the Pacificâ„¢ video game in North America for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox(R) video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PC. Heroes of the Pacific is a dramatic World War II aerial combat-action game developed by IR Gurus of Australia. Heroes of the Pacific will be available September 28, 2005, for consoles and in October 2005 for the PC.

The last two versions of The Need for Speed series concentrated on the illegal street racing craze. While I enjoyed playing both games, I could not help but to wonder that I am in a jazzed up car doing insane stunts and not a single cop is around me? I have to admit as fun as the last two games were they needed that missing element. At times it just seemed you were on a set course and the only reward was being able to unlock a body part or decal. Sure it was fun and at times challenging, but I like that added thrill of being chased by the police. I have made several comments on this topic both in print and to other racing fans. We all know the story that happened a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Now developer Pandemic Studios and Lucas Arts is putting gamers back in the action with their new Xbox title Star Wars: Battlefront II. Despite a few small problems the previous title was a huge success.
