Cassidy – You Will Always Have a Special Place in Our Hearts
Cassidy, 8/23/2003 to 7/3/2005 – May You Rest In Peace
We would like to dedicate this Independence Day to Cassidy, known by many as CassidyPuppy. Cassidy led a short but fun filled life in which she was loved very much, and brought a smile to everyone she came in contact with. Cassidy came into our lives when she was just three months old, and quickly became the XBS mascot. She was, without a doubt, the best dog I have ever known and she helped Christina and me get through some of the tougher times in our life. She may be gone from this earth, but she will always be in our hearts and minds, forever.
Cassidy was a perfect dog in so many ways its still unbelievable to me that she is gone. She liked coffee, she loved playing, and she would do anything to please us. She also played a vital role in bringing up Mikey, since he was only one month old when we were blessed with his entry to our lives. Mikey, as well as Christina and I, are heart-broken over the unexpected loss, and we are doing everything we can to make it easier on him, as well as ourselves.

Cassidy Loved Coffee ever since she was three months old.

Cassidy Loved to Play – nonstop – every day.

She went on to help him become the great, and loving dog he is today.

Cassidy’s last day on this earth was a good one. We went to a party where Mikey and Cassidy had free roam of an entire enclosed back yard; she ate steak, chicken, and birthday cake. She also ran around the yard with her brother Mikey and cousin Bianca, and she spent her first time in a pool, which she actually seemed to enjoy!
Unfortunately, Cassidy has always been afraid of loud noises. Late during the get-together, which was also to celebrate someones birthday, some of the neighbors began lighting fireworks. Cassidy was a Jack Parsons Russell Terrier, and has always been too smart for her own good. Tragically, the loud noises of the fireworks made her find a way out of the yard, and into traffic on a nearby highway. We frantically searched for her, and when found, frantically tried to get her to an animal hospital, but the mission was pointless as her innocent soul had already passed on, hopefully quickly and peacefully.

Cassidy was chilling in this picture, and hopefully she is now as well.
This is certainly not an experience I want to re-enact, and has hit both Christina and me very hard, as Cassidy was considered part of our family. For those of you who have dogs, you can understand the joy they bring into your lives, with their unconditional love, and their tail wagging when you enter the door. Cassidy was certainly a special dog, and will never leave my heart, nor anyone who knew her, including Christina and Mikey. I honestly believe that she is in ‘Puppy Heaven’ now and running around playing as usual, waiting to be reunited with her brother Mikey, and Christina and me.
While this tragedy is tough still, what it shows is that life can change in an instant, so spend every second you can with your loved ones and make the times you do have together memorable and precious, as they were with Cassidy.
Cassidy, WE LOVE YOU! Rest in peace cutie pie.
