Dead or Alive 4 Xbox 360 Preview – DOA4 Tecmo’s Baby
Dead Or Alive 4 is, as I’m sure you can figure out, the fourth installment in the much loved series from Tecmo’s own Team Ninja.
From what we’ve seen of the game so far, it sure doesn’t look set to disappoint. For starters, the game is visually phenomenal, boasting
an unprecedented level of detail that’s enough to make any gamer with eyes go weak at the knees and slack in the jaw department.
Just from the five-minute demo we were shown at E3 it’s clear that DOA4 will be there at launch to show what the Xbox 360 is capable
of right from the start.
Of course, Dead Or Alive games always were more than just a very, very pretty face and a tightly packed, low cut dress. We’ve been promised a fighting system that’s even
move fluid than it’s predecessors, with more emphasis on anticipating your opponent’s actions and defending than ever, making for a
much more skill and reflex reliant gaming experience. We’re also told to expect some great, all-new characters, three of whom get a
chance to flaunt their moves in the aforementioned demo. All this coupled with some cringe-worthy environmentally specific moves (can you
say riding an enemy down some stone stairs by their face?) and a much touted, new improved online system, makes for a game to be salivating
over right up to 360 launch day.

There’s simply no denying that Dead or Alive 4 is a complete and utter visual orgasm, both in and outside of the cut-scenes.
It just looks so mind-blowingly dazzling that it’s hard not to get excited. No doubt it’ll be a huge selling point for the Xbox
360 come launch day, bundled with consoles and carted home in the arms of beaming gamers worldwide on that hallowed date; not
without good reason mind you.
Aside from the graphics, fans of the series can look forward to taking the reins with a number of all
new characters (as well as all your old favorites), kicking seven bells out of them in brilliantly interactive locations, and a new,
more fluid style of play that’ll test the skill of veterans as well as welcome newbies to the fold with open arms.
Regardless of if you’re a fighting fan or not, you really should be slobbering buckets in anticipation. If you’re not, grab the
local phone book and flick to the ‘P’ section, only there will you find someone who can help you.
