Altec Lansing’s New XA2021 Powered Speaker System Adds Excitement To Gaming
2.1 Powered Audio System Places Viewer Deep Inside the Action; Value-Priced
Product Delivers Quality Bass for PCs, Portable Music Players
The sound tracks in today’s video games are simply amazing. Unfortunately, most
TV speakers are amazingly weak — which is why Altec Lansing(R) Technologies,
Inc., the leader in the design and manufacture of Powered Audio products, today
introduced its XA2021 powered speaker system, a value-priced product capable
of giving TVs or PCs the rich, thunderously strong output needed for video games
and movies.
Altec Lansing’s XA2021 generates a spectrum of sound you’d never think possible
from a value-priced system. Two 3″ shielded satellite drivers, housed in
cutting-edge black speakers that pivot back and forth for optimal sound dispersion,
render a full range of music and effects with exceptional clarity. Completing
the low frequency component is a matching 5.25″ long-throw subwoofer placed
into a ported, solid wood cabinet. The XA2021’s satellite speakers can be wall-mounted
if desired to create a finished, built-in look.
“Today’s
video games and action movies are filled with excitement, but only a full-range
audio system can make them come alive. These speakers can handle the job,”
said Bob Garthwaite, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Altec
Lansing Technologies. “Best of all, the XA2021 delivers great sound at
a price that meets the budget of any gamer or movie lover. For versatility,
performance, and value, the XA2021 powered audio system is an outstanding choice.”
Built-In Amplification
The minute the XA2021 is connected to a video game system, TV, PC, DVD player,
VCR, or portable music player, listeners are thrust into the world of their
favorite entertainment. A built-in amplifier and state-of-the-art equalization
circuitry pump up the existing audio track to dramatically improve the sound
of video games, music, movies, and TV; 95 dB Sound Pressure Level and frequency
response of 40 Hz to 18 kHz ensure that every laser blast and trumpet solo is
reproduced in all its fullness and power.
Easy Connections
Adding to the XA2021’s appeal is a convenient user design that makes audio
hookups a breeze. RCA stereo and 3.5 mm audio jacks are placed at the front
side of the XA2021’s subwoofer for easy connection to virtually any audio input
source. The unit includes handy color-coded cables, easy-to-use power on/off
and volume (master and subwoofer) controls, as well as a headphone jack for
private listening.
For even more flexibility, the XA2021 offers an auxiliary input jack that enables
playback from a second audio source. Using the auxiliary jack, listeners can
connect both their MP3 player and their video game system, for example, giving
them a broader choice of entertainment without constantly changing cables.
Pricing and Availability
Altec Lansing’s new XA2021 2.1 powered speaker system is priced at $49.95 (MSRP)
