That one Game – Looking Back on the Memories
Written by: Mr Underscore
I have spent one year of my life playing that one game, and when I wasn‘t playing it I was thinking about it. It consumed all my free time. I would feel
excited to get back home from work because I knew I would get to play it. I
don’t know what was so special about it but I just got so hopelessly addicted
to it. I began playing it because a good friend of mine kept talking about how
good it was and how much fun he had playing it. Bunch of other people that I
knew were also playing it so I decided to try it out and see what the buzz was
all about.
I soon got addicted to it even though I didn’t know it then and it became
my daily habit. One year went by and here I am still playing it. I wouldn’t
call it that much of an addiction don’t get me wrong I am having a lot
of fun playing it, but now that one year has passed me by I can only wonder
about all the things that I missed out. Sure I did play lots of other games
too so I weren’t hopelessly lost but even when playing those other games
I were thinking about that one game. This made me wonder for how much longer
should I keep playing it. When is it going to be enough.
This brought me to the conclusion that if I don’t put a stop to it now
I might as well miss out on another year. Scary thought indeed. After realizing
this much I have decided that it would be much healthier if I quit playing it
now. Do I regret on spending the whole year playing that only game? No, not
at all. I had a lot of fun and I have all but good memories about it. But I
knew that it would be better for myself to stop playing it.
The time has come to come out of the cave to look around and see what’s
going on in the gaming world. I now feel much more relaxed even though I do
get this nostalgic feeling at times when I look back at the year. But that was
then and now is time to move on, time to make up for the lost time, time to
go visit my favorite game rental retailer and say hi because it’s been
a long year.
