Fasten your Seatbelts – Midnight Club Returns to The Xbox
Games development ‘megastars’ Rockstar have announced the third in the series of Midnight Club racing games. Interestingly called “Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition”, it’s a collaboration with “America’s premiere automotive lifestyles magazine”, DUB.
Developed by Rockstar’s San Diego studio for the Xbox and PS2, we’re promised the “latest and hottest trends in the automotive industry and street customization scene”.
Predictably, the game’s development is scheduled to allow it to hit shelves for the Christmas season, in both North America and Europe.
“The previous Midnight Club games set the standard and raised the bar for racing games in the 21st century,” enthused Jay Panek, a producer at Rockstar San Diego. “Now, with Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition, we are taking every opportunity to expand upon the signature features of the Midnight Club series, as well as creating all-new features, to produce the most exhilarating street-racing game ever. DUB’s involvement, combined with our own experience at making open city racing games will undoubtedly solidify and legitimize Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition as the preeminent racing experience.”
It could be interesting to see if they ‘localise’ the game’s content. Probably not – but the mind boggles with naughty Novas, exhausts sans baffles, plastered with Max Power stickers bombing it down your local high street with a barely 17 year old bloke at the wheel. Thanks to Ferrago for the heads up on the story.
