EA gains Timesplitters series from Eidos
The TimeSplitters series, previously published by Eidos , is a great game that was somewhat overlooked by the general gaming public. EA games has grabbed up the series from Eidos and has set a release date set for Timesplitters 3 of sometime in 2005. Of course, details are scarce this far in advance but, here’s what we do know:
The graphics engine has been improved and talk of “unprecedented graphics” has been tossed around. Online play has been confirmed. This can only be seen as another reason for Microsoft and EA to patch up their relationship. Currently the two giants have failed to agree terms on Xbox Live, so EA’s games are conspicuously missing from Microsoft Game Studios otherwise unbeatable online offering.
With online capabilities, if TimeSplitters 3 can at worst equal the gameplay of Timesplitters 2, EA will have a very good FPS on it’s hands. We will have more information on this game as it becomes available.
