In what is a shocking move to many, Ed Fries has resigned from his position as head of Microsoft Game Studios. Ed Fries, who began his career in 1985 as an intern with Microsoft, began working in 1995 at Microsoft Game Studios and is often credited with giving the Xbox the solid position it is currently in. Until an official successor can be named Shane Kim, the current COO, will be filling the position for Ed Fries.

As Ed Fries steps down from his position we all wish him well and look forward to the changes the new person in charge will bring. Ed Fries was one of the most notable names inside Microsoft other then its founder Bill Gates and will be missed by the entire Xbox community.
