Gameman from Chicago named XBS’ first Featured Member

Member: Gameman, aka Derrick Harris sweeps the staff vote.

The whole idea behind a community website such as Xbox Solution is helping
gamers, that is why we exist. The forums serve as a place for people to get
together and share ideas, arrange tournaments, and discuss and solve problems.
Every so often a member of the community stands out to us as showing exceptional
skills and helpfulness within the forums. In all honesty, we had a tough time
choosing our very first featured member, there are so many ideal forum dwellers
to choose from. It was quite apparent from the start of our debate that Derrick
Harris, or Gameman as we all know him by, was standing
at the top of the pack. I took some time to learn more about Derrick, and while
it may not explain why he sold Crimson Skies (leaving his fellow wing men in
tears), it’s quite interesting.

Derrick
was a bit hesitant to discuss many details of himself with us, but we do know
he’s been playing video games since the first consoles came out. Possibly you
can recall the game Pong on Intellivision circa 1974. Apparently Derrick had
an obsession with cars as a youngster. This would explain the photo of his early
childhood, and shed some insight into an auto wreck that now leaves him plenty
of time to be a ‘he-bitch’ house-husband.

His most cherished recollection is the birth of his children, grandchildren,
and finally beating Splinter Cell. (not necessarily in that order)

We miss him on Crimson Skies, but from what he says as soon as he gets his
grubby hands on Project Gotham Racing 2 his game play hours will spike considerably
from the 2-3 hours he spends with the Xbox daily, currently playing Top Spin,
just a tad different from his all time favorite Skies of Arcadia on the Dreamcast.

You have to wonder, with 5 kids, 2 grand kids, and more on the way…. How
the heck does he find the time to spend at least 2 hours browsing his favorite
website daily. His favorite website? We’ll have to quote him on this on: “Ummm….errrr…..
Xbox Something or other…..Xbox Solution, that’s the ticket!” Yeah,
guess it is. With 7 little ones to contend with Gameman says “Christmas
is gonna suck for someone, probably me.” We feel your pain.

Gameman claims to love first person shooter titles, but admits he sucks at
them. He’ll be picking up Halo 2 when it comes out, but is not at the frenzied
state that many of us are in regards to it. Inverted controls? “….Nawww.
I’m old remember. Confusion makes me pee-pee.“
Most looking forward to: Fable (hopefully he’ll still be around if this one
ever actually makes it to the shelves).

Derrick, we commend you for having the bravery to allow us to post that picture!
In a seriousness though, if you ever have the opportunity to play a game on
Live with Gameman, he’s a true gamer, and plays with respect and dedication.
