Logitech, the market leader in high-end PC audio, today announced a new line-up
of multimedia speakers: six different systems that bring a variety of options
to a wide range of sound enthusiasts. The company is introducing three new Z-Series
products, which provide premium sound and speaker design for music lovers and
gaming aficionados, plus an entirely new line of X-Series products,
developed to offer distinctive design and quality sound at an attractive price.
The new speakers are available this fall in U.S. retail outlets and online at
www.logitech.com, ranging in price from $29.99 to $199.99.

Over the past two years, Logitech has achieved market leadership
in the high-end multimedia speaker category, with its powerful Z-Series products
,”
said Ray Weikel, director of product marketing for Logitech’s Audio Business
Unit. “More and more people are looking for better-quality sound from
their PCs and game consoles. This year, we are expanding our audio family to
meet these demands, by providing an entire line of products that offer performance
and design for every audio environment and every budget
.” . . .

The Z-Series

Three new Z-Series products join the top-selling Z-Series line — two performance
2.1 systems and a new 5.1 gaming system. All of the products feature Logitech’s
polished aluminum phase plug driver, which provides the clarity of a tweeter
with the richness and fullness of a separate mid-range driver. Each model also
includes a game-console adapter, enabling the system to be used across multiple
platforms. Logitech will continue to sell the award winning Z-680 system as
its top-of-the-line product. The new Z-Series products include:

Z-3: This 2.1 speaker system brings style and premium sound
together in a modern design inspired by popular home audio systems — with real
wood and aluminum surfaces. With a suggested retail price of $99.99, the Z-3
offers premium sound features, including:

  • Logitech’s patented pressure driver subwoofer technology, which delivers
    unparalleled distortion-free bass.
  • Durable cast-iron satellite stands, and removable grilles.
  • A wired remote control that includes a headphone jack, volume and power
    controls.
  • Separate bass level control, to ensure a perfect bass-level balance.

Z-2200: The Z-2200 speaker system offers 200 watts of unparalleled
THX-certified audio for discriminating music lovers. These speakers were developed
specifically for people who want the sound performance of a Z-680-like system,
with the convenience of a 2.1 configuration. The system has a suggested retail
price of $149.99 and offers the following features:

  • Eight-inch long-throw subwoofer driver with flared bass ports, to pound
    out powerful, distortion-free bass.
  • Rotating satellite pedestals for wall mounting or desk placement, featuring
an innovative design with removable grilles.
  • A headphone jack for private listening.
  • SoundTouch(TM) wired remote control.

Z-5300: This 280 watt, 5.1, THX-certified surround sound system
brings home theater sound to console and PC gaming. It carries a suggested retail
price of $199.99 and includes the following versatile features:

  • Logitech’s patented dual chamber subwoofer, which delivers twice the bass
    of conventional designs.
  • Matrix mode and source selector switch to create 5.1 surround sound from
stereo, 4-channel or 5.1 sound sources.
  • Removable satellite grilles that offer a high-end look, and rotating satellite
pedestals, which make for easy installation on the wall or desktop.
  • Full-featured SoundTouch wired remote control, so people can easily and
    instantly adjust the sound parameters.

The X-Series

Logitech’s brand new line of X-Series speakers blends great sound performance
with innovative speaker designs at affordable prices. Like the new Z-Series
speakers, two X-Series products also include game-console adapters, so people
can easily and instantly set up speakers across multiple platforms.

X-620: The Logitech X-620 is an enhanced 6.1 surround sound
speaker system. With a dedicated rear center satellite, it provides listeners
with all of the action. Retailing for a suggested price of $99.99, the system
includes:

  • A source selector switch, so those who do not have a 6.1 soundcard can
still enjoy 6.1 surround sound from 4, 5.1 or 6.1 sound sources.
  • Logitech’s patented pressure driver subwoofer technology provides solid
    bass, for smooth, powerful lows.
  • Convenient system controls and a headphone jack for private listening.
  • Game-console adapter included.

X-220: This 2.1 speaker system adds a punch to PC gaming and
music listening, with its high quality 5.25-inch subwoofer. The system has a
suggested retail price of $49.99 and features:

  • Wrap-around grilles and rotating stands for easy wall mounting.
  • Power and volume controls on the right satellite, along with headphone
    jack for private listening.
  • Separate subwoofer volume control.
  • Game-console adapter included.

X-120: Finally, the X-120 speaker system enhances the audio
experience for any PC, portable CD player or MP3 player. With an MSRP of $29.99,

use a bass port to provide rich sound.
  • Adjustable bass and treble balance from conveniently placed controls.
  • Headphone jack for private music enjoyment.
