Sega GT Online – Now 12 Players To Battle the Streets

all the thrills of the most realistic driving game for Xbox online via Xbox
Live, “Sega GT Online” allows up to twelve gamers
to put their cars – and their skills – to the ultimate test against
thousands of gamers from around the world. A blend of deep simulation detail
and high-octane arcade action, “Sega GT Online” challenges gamers
to qualify for licenses and earn money to soup up their rides and buy newer,
more powerful cars. Players can then fine-tune nearly every aspect of their
car’s performance – from the muffler and brakes to the suspension, body
weight and tires, before hitting the online racing circuit. Gamers even have
the option to trade or bet their hard-earned cars and parts with other gamers
before hitting more than a dozen devious, high-speed raceways.

Of course, gamers can also talk trash as they take turns at 180 miles per hour
with Xbox Live’s voice chat capabilities.

the option to trade or bet their hard-earned cars and parts with other gamers
before hitting more than a dozen devious, high-speed raceways. Of course, gamers

"Sega GT Online" also features an industry first "trade-style"
partnership with various independent record labels. This partnership has enabled
the hard-driving, apex-hugging gaming company to compile more than 40 tracks
of progressive indie rock and punk from 30 of today’s hottest up and coming
bands hailing from the United States, Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Norway
and Sweden. "Sega GT Online" headliners include Mid-Fi Records’ Supersuckers,
Gearhead Records’ New Bomb Turks, Lookout! Records’ Ted Leo and the Pharmacists
and the Oranges Band, and Fat Wreck Chords’ Lag Wagon, Swinging Utters, and
the Real McKenzies.

Our Take: Sega GT was a great racing title and the addition
of Xbox Live support is going to make it even better. We were happy to hear
that Sega has changed the programming to now allow for 12 racers at a time,
originally it was slated as a 6 car race setup. Our only hope is an improved
damage engine, as the first was almost non-existant, although we’ll still enjoy
mopping you up off the floor online, even if we can’t take your bumper off.
