ESPN NHL Hockey for the Xbox Slides Into Stores Sept 9th
Cooler than an ice rink in summer, “ESPN NHL Hockey”
hits store shelves on September 9th, featuring online play for both the PlayStation®2
computer entertainment system and the Xboxâ„¢ videogame system from Microsoft.
In addition, the highly-anticipated “Skills Competition” mode will be
playable online, giving gamers the chance to show off their individual and team
video game talents to the online community. Both versions will also support voice
chat through the headset.
“ESPN NHL Hockey” also boasts cool new features
such as a revamped graphics engine and the “Skybox,” a place where
gamers can keep a host of unlockable items they earn for accomplishing gameplay
milestones. Heading back to the future, “ESPN NHL Hockey” also brings
back relics from the past as more than 60 retro uniforms will be available along
with over 30 era teams, such as the 1994 Rangers who captured the Stanley cup
after more than half a century of heartache.
Bringing a whole new sound to the ice, “ESPN NHL Hockey” also features
crisp play-by-play and color analysis from ESPN’s number one commentary team,
Gary Thorne and Bill Clement.
