Xicat Interactive Inc.’s Japanese role-playing game for the Xbox, Metal Dungeon, has shipped to retailers in North America.

In the futuristic title, players will control cyborgs that are sent underground in an attempt to tame a subterranean dungeon. Five character types and ten dungeon levels are included. Dungeons are also randomly generated, so the same level is never played twice. Cyborgs can be upgraded with chips and implants and with various other spells and abilities.

Xicat is backing the title with a television, Internet and print advertising campaign, highlighted by a 30-second TV spot that is running on Comedy Central, SciFi Network and Tech TV.

Metal Dungeon is rated “T” (Teen) and carries an MSRP of $49.99.
