MechAssault Corner interview with Tom Dowd
We got the heads up from the folks over at MechAssault Corner that they have
posted an interview with MechAssault’s Lead Designer Tom Dowd. Answering quite
a few questions about the game’s aspects. Having recently played MechAssault
on Xbox Live, I can personally tell you that this is a game to look for, and
will be a major part of the Xbox Live experience. Packed with some truly intense
action, excellent graphics, and total destruction of the environment and your
friends!
Read on for a glimpse of the interview, and a link to the full text . . .
We know that MechAssault is going to be an arcade action game
not a simulator, from previous interviews and articles. Could you elaborate
further on that?–You need to think “action” more than “arcade”,
but as an example one of the major differences is focus. In a sim game you
spend a lot of time watching the HUD and making decisions on what you want
to do, and when, based on all that information. MechAssault is a faster, more
frenetic game. Most of the information is there, but your focus is on your
enemy.
Head over to MechAssault Corner to read the full
interview.
[XboxSolution Staff Note: We'll have plenty more on MechAssault,
including some first hand gameplay comments. Get ready for this title, as it
will be a main focus of the XBS Tournaments!] In the meantime, feel free
to take a look at our previously posted MechAssault
Preview.
