NeoX Modchip plays ISO’s on retail Xbox
Almost a month ago we reported that Neo, the company behind the PlayStation 2 mod chip of the same name, was developing an Xbox modchip. Over the weekend the biggest story we covered was the public release of the first ISOs for Xbox. Following both reports comes the announcement that the NeoX modchip, despite earlier reports from the company stating otherwise, can in fact play the pirated games released from the Project-X group and games on retail Xbox units. The company also said that they’re currently in development of MP3, VCD and DiVX player as well as Linux tools and web browsers for Xbox.
There’s a silver lining in this dark cloud though. It seems that due to fear of legal issues the company still doesn’t have any plans with regards to selling NeoX to the public.
